Today we had a long train ride. We start in Oslo with a Bus to Drammen because the tracks are being worked on. In Drammen, we get on the train to Stavanger, which will be a 7 hour and 19 minute ride. We actually like the trains. We can catch up on journals and our rest and see the country we are in. We pass through lots of woods, mountains, farms, and small towns.
When we arrive in Stavanger, our hotel is a short walk away. We check in and go out to check out the town and find where our ferry to Tau leaves from tomorrow. After that, we check out a few places and settle on the Harbour Cafe, which happens to be attached to the bowling alley. We get a nice window seat, and trying to avoid sticker shock, we order our meals. Carol has Chicken with chicken sauce which sounds kind of redundant. I order a half rack of ribs in Bourbon sauce. My half rack is large and I think they may have misunderstod and brought me a whole rack. It comes with a smal corn on the cob, cole slaw, a great salad mix and baked potatoe. Both meals are excellent and I am only charged for a half rack, so I am amazed at how much I got. We stroll a little after dinner and then head back to theroom as we must get up early tomorrow to catch the 0800 ferry. Pictures from the train and diinner follow the entry.

Looks like pretty country that you’re going thru. Too bad you won’t get to see Terje and Inger while you’re in their part of the country.
Mmmmmm….that food looks better than some of what we had on the ship.
