Lovely Lakenenland

Since we did more than we had planned yesterday, we get to sleep in today. It is raining lightly when we get up and we take our time with today’s breakfast. We then take our time packing up. However slow we go, we do eventually finish and have to leave. We drive back along the Picture Rocks Lake Shore to the town of Munising. We stop at the Visitors center there to see what they have in the way of weather reports and then continue on.

Run For Your Life

The road is easy driving through Michigan wood land. The weather is mostly cloudy with some periods of light rain. We reach a place I had read about called Lakenenland. It is a sculpture park done by a private land owner. This is similar to a place we used to take our kids to in Colorado. It was called the Swetsville Zoo. We pull into Lakenenland and I am amused to find no trespassing signs. The amusing part is that they are directed to township planning and zoning boards for 8 years of harassment. Everyone else is welcome. It also advises certain officers of federal Agencies that they are not welcome either. We drive on in and walk around enjoying the many interesting, humorous, and weird works of art.

CNC Ore Dock Brewery

After the sculpture walk, we drive to Marquette and stop to have a bite to eat. We choose Italian food and then head to downtown Marquette. We walk around a bit and find our way to the Ore Dock Brewery. We enjoy a couple of good beers, walk back to our car and get in, right as it starts to rain again. We find our hotel and stay in for the rest of the evening. Check out all the crazy sculptures below.
